Overthinking is often a sign that your nervous system is activated and is craving balance. Finding ourselves with racing thoughts or inner restlessness can be a way to disconnect from our bodies and to live more in our heads, keeping ourselves from feeling present and in our bodies.

This gentle yoga practice offers a supportive way to calm an anxious mind by reconnecting you to your body through slow, mindful movement and somatic awareness.

What to expect in this practice

This is a slow-moving, grounding yoga class designed to cultivate presence to feel more supported and settled in your body and mind. Everything is optional, and I welcome you to listen to your body and make any adjustments to create a class that feels supportive for you.

We’ll explore:

  • Pendulation for presence and nervous system regulation
  • Spinal movement with Cat and Cow
  • Restful postures like Child’s Pose and Supine Twist
  • Slow, gentle movement within poses to avoid stillness and racing thoughts
  • A cooling practice to close the class

Who this class is for

This practice is supportive if you:

  • Have racing thoughts or mental chatter
  • Experience anxiety
  • Have a hard time relaxing
  • Wish to calm your thoughts without stillness or meditation
