Many survivors of sexual trauma feel alone in their experience. They might logically understand their trauma, but they feel something is "off" in their bodies. Things like...

Feeling heaviness, tightness, or tension. There might be places in their body that feel like they’ve been holding for a long time.

Having a hard time staying present and might feel restless or tense. If they find presence, it’s difficult to stay there long.

Some parts of their bodies feel okay to be in. Others feel guarded, numb, or like they’d rather not be noticed.

Feeling like there’s something that’s ready to shift or release, but they’re not sure how to make this happen.

Wanting to feel more present, grounded, and more at home with themselves, even if just for a moment.

If any of these land, you are so welcome here.

tending, not fixing.

This series doesn’t view symptoms as a problem to be fixed. Instead, we…

Meet ourselves exactly where we are.

Learn how to listen to our body’s messages.

Move at a pace that speaks to our unique needs.

Honor ourselves and all that our bodies have done to allow our survival.

This is a gentle place to simply be, moving at your own pace and honoring whatever arises.

The Series: Day by Day

Days 1-7 build a supportive, grounded foundation. You’ll tend to your nervous system, soften held tension, and rekindle your mind-body connection.

Each class is completely free, available anytime, in any order, and can be done at any pace that feels right to you.

Day 7 - Rest & Honor Your Journey

For the final day, we're taking a moment of rest and honoring our journeys. All that you have been through to get here, the steps you've taken to heal, the moments that might have gone unnoticed by yourself. Your presence is all that's needed today.

There are no props required, and all experience levels are welcome-even if you’ve never done yoga or body-based healing before. Classes range from 20-30 minutes.

There are no standing poses, downward facing dogs, or vinyasas. This is a gentle, slow moving series that asks nothing more than for your gentle presence.

nice to meet you,

I’m Laura, and I’m certified in trauma-informed yoga and somatic healing, with additional training in body-based support for survivors of sexual trauma.

I crafted these classes with the utmost care and compassion, and this is truly a labor of love that comes straight from my heart. This isn’t just a series of classes, but a way for survivors to connect, knowing we’re all on our own paths, choosing ourselves.

You are so much more than your trauma, and you are so deserving of a gentle and supportive space that understands all you have been through.

It would be such a honor to practice with you, even if it’s just for a few moments.

Take good care.

Gentle Questions

I don’t believe every trauma is the same, and certain practices can be unsupportive for healing. Here are a few key shifts I’ve made to make this a more supportive practice.

  • No forgiveness practices. You will never be asked to forgive or send love to anyone involving your trauma.
  • No exposing or vulnerable poses. Poses like happy baby, deep squats, or full frog are not included. You can include these on your own if you like. If I ever offer a pose that doesn’t support you, you’re more than welcome to choose another. That’s part of listening to your needs and is always welcome.
  • No trauma memory work. You won’t be asked to revisit specific events or sit with difficult emotions on purpose. If emotions arise naturally, you’re welcome to feel them as much or as little as you choose.
  • Grounding practices. I include plenty of grounding practices that you can return to at any time.
  • No breathwork practices. Many people find that these practices are more activating than soothing. To support this, I’ve left out any focused breathwork practices. I also mention other grounding strategies if I mention to bring awareness to your breath.
  • Stillness is not required. You can still receive the benefits of this series if you feel more comfortable fidgeting or moving during poses.

Trauma-informed yoga is a way of teaching the practice that honors the lived experiences of trauma survivors.

It means that practitioners understand nervous system sensitivity after trauma, include additional supportive grounding strategies, and prioritize safety, trust, and choice in every practice.

During classes, it means that I am simply your guide, and you always have full choice. You can skip poses, explore something else, end early, add props, or do anything that brings you the most comfort.

Every experience is different. What you notice depends on many factors like your nervous system, your history with body-based healing, how often you practice, and your current support system.

Some people might feel lighter, calmer, more grounded, or more settled. Others may notice shifts over time like breathing more deeply, sleeping better, having less tension, or feeling a little more present in their body.

I welcome you to see if you can release the expectation that you need to feel a certain way after this series.

Your experience may be subtle, gradual, or felt deeply. What matters most is honoring what arises for you. Sometimes the most meaningful shifts are the ones we almost overlook. Any shift matters, no matter how subtle.

There is nothing you need to achieve or change in this space. This is a place to release instead of strive, tend instead of fix.

Knowing when you’re ready to begin is part of the practice. This series will be here at any time you’re ready to explore it.

Trauma-informed yoga is not a replacement for formal mental health support. This series can be a supportive addition or a gentle stepping stone, but it is not a care plan on its own. Resources for additional support are linked here.
